The McPeak-Sirois Group (“the Group”) has announced today the appointment of Dr. Dominique Johnson as its Managing Director. The mission of the Group is to improve care given to patients suffering from breast cancer through better access to clinical trials.
“We are extremely proud to announce Dr. Johnson’s nomination”, says Charles Sirois, Chairman of the Board. “We are confident that Dr. Johnson’s leadership and outstanding administrative skills will allow the McPeak-Sirois Group to fulfill its mission towards patients with breast cancer.”
“Our board of directors, composed of members of the senior management of the four founding hospitals, welcome the appointment of this dedicated woman who has decided to embrace the cause of our Group and explicitly support clinical research in breast cancer in Quebec” says Susan McPeak, cofounder of the Group.
“It’s a privilege and an honor to be leading the McPeak-Sirois Group and work with health professionals devoted in improving care for breast cancer patients,” says Dr. Johnson. “Many opportunities arise to improve patients’ health and eventually help provide greater access to clinical trials to regional hospitals.”
With the appointment of Dr. Johnson, the Group intends to accelerate the development of its operations with the aim of promoting clinical research trials in breast cancer in Quebec.
Dr. Johnson has worked for nearly 20 years in the field of clinical research both in private and public health organizations. Over the past 15 years, she has been responsible for the establishment, development and growth of the Montreal Health Innovations Coordinating Center (MHICC), a division of the Montreal Heart Institute that has gained an international reputation.
Dr. Johnson holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal and has carried out important research projects before assuming management responsibilities in this field.
