Nathalie Laplante, Ph.D.

Programme Accès-recherche Coordinator

In January 2018, Nathalie Laplante was proud to join the McPeak-Sirois Group as coordinator of the Programme Accès-recherche whose mission is to extend the consortium’s action to hospitals in regions all over Quebec.

Nathalie obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and psychopathology from Université Paris-8 (France) in 1996.  She has over 20 years of experience in clinical trial management both in public health organizations and the biopharma industry.

Nathalie co-founded Galileo Genomics (later Genizon Biosciences) in 1999, a population genomics company based in Montreal. She held the position of Senior Director of the Clinical Research and Ethics department. Among other accomplishments, she developed an important network of clinical collaborators throughout Quebec with which studies involving over 20 diseases and conditions could be conducted.

She later joined the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) (2005) were she was entrusted with key mandates, such as establishing and managing the MHI Biobank, a 30,000-patient hospital cohort. As Global Project Manager, she later proceeded to manage phase III industry sponsored international studies at the Montreal Health Innovations Coordinating Center (MHICC), a worldwide renowned academic research organization part of MHI.
