Montreal, July 25, 2024 – Audace au Féminin and the McPeak-Sirois Group for Clinical Research in Breast Cancer are proud to announce that they are joining forces to improve awareness and information related to breast cancer, its treatment and clinical trials for the benefit of black and racialized women in the Tétons Ben Drôles campaign. This strategic partnership between Audace au Féminin, a non-profit organization highlighting Black Women who shine in the shadows and the McPeak-Sirois Group, a charitable organization whose mission is to better fight breast cancer through clinical research, aims to improve awareness of clinical research in breast cancer for Black and racialized women.
“We are very proud that our two organizations can work together to raise awareness to ultimately promote increased access to clinical research in breast cancer for this population. Black and racialized women are unfortunately more affected by certain aggressive cancers, including triple negative, and would benefit from better knowledge of the new therapies available thanks to clinical trials” underlines Dominique Johnson, Managing Director of the McPeak-Sirois Group.
First step in this partnership, the McPeak-Sirois Group will be present at the Salon International de la Femme Noire which will be held at the Grand Quay at the Port of Montreal from August 9 to 11, 2024. The Group’s team will host a booth on information and awareness of clinical research in breast cancer.
« This partnership with the McPeak-Sirois Group is a crucial step in our mission to promote and improve access to quality health care for black and racialized women. By increasing awareness of clinical research in breast cancer, we hope to provide these women with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their health. Together, we can make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer. » – Dorothy Rhau, President of Audace au Féminin
