The McPeak-Sirois Group supports the promotion in Quebec of a pan-Canadian registry from our partner Breast Cancer Canada.
This registry is open to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, regardless of the stage of the disease or moment of their journey.
From diagnosis to remission, this 10-year initiative aims to understand not only the effectiveness of treatment, but also the mental, emotional and physical impact of breast cancer on patients.
In short:
- PROgress Tracker is a pan-Canadian breast cancer registry that collects patient-reported outcomes (PRO) data.
- The project is governed by a research ethics committee.
- Data collection is carried out using questionnaires covering various experiences of participants with breast cancer over time, from diagnosis to treatment and monitoring.
- Anonymized data is collected in a database to allow researchers and clinicians to analyze responses from a large population to assess quality of care, identify gaps and disparities and thus inform breast cancer policies and clinical care standards from coast to coast.
