The CISSS des Laurentides – Hôpital de Saint-Jérôme has joined the consortium

The McPeak-Sirois Group is proud to announce that the Centre intégré en santé et services sociaux des Laurentides (CISSS des Laurentides) has joined the consortium to provide people with breast cancer in the Laurentians with better access to clinical trials.

This partnership is part of the Programme Accès-recherche Dr André-Robidoux, which aims to provide more Quebecers with access to clinical trials. Through clinical research, patients can benefit from the latest treatments and improve their chances of survival and quality of life. The Programme Accès-recherche Dr André-Robidoux of the McPeak-Sirois Group is supported by Breast Cancer Canada.

We are very proud to have the CISSS des Laurentides as an affiliated member of our Group, which now includes 13 hospitals across Quebec” said Charles Sirois and Susan McPeak, co-founders of the McPeak-Sirois Group.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Dr. Ghislain Cournoyer, who is joining the Group’s Scientific Committee. For patients in the Laurentians region, his arrival marks a major step forward: significantly expanded access to clinical research protocols in breast cancer” emphasizes Dr. Jamil Asselah, Chair of the Group’s Scientific Committee and a medical oncologist at the MUHC.

As a member of the McPeak-Sirois Group’s Scientific Committee, I welcome this initiative, which aims to improve access to breast cancer clinical research in the Laurentians. By facilitating the participation of people with breast cancer in clinical trials, we are taking an important step toward a better understanding of the disease, increased sharing of expertise, and ultimately, a concrete improvement in clinical practices” said Dr. Ghislain Cournoyer, a hematologist oncologist at the Hôpital de Saint-Jérôme of the CISSS des Laurentides.
