The unveiling of a plaque acknowledging the commitment of the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont as associate member of the McPeak-Sirois Group took place at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont on Tuesday, October 15th.
The General Management of the Hospital and Dr. Dubé took the opportunity to organize a visit of several clinics, including the Breast Cancer Research Clinic. Ms. McPeak, Mr. Sirois and the Group’s team were accompanied by Nathalie Tremblay, CEO of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, and her colleague Jida El Hajjar, Vice President, Investments and Health Promotion.
The Group’s founding couple thanked the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont CEO, Mr. Sylvain Lemieux, for his leadership and highlighted that the hospital was the first Associate Member to join the Group. The CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont joined the Group in April 2017 through its Programme Accès-recherche in partnership with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Pierre Dubé, Surgical Oncologist at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, was also warmly congratulated for the important role he plays on our Executive Scientific Committee. He gave an inspiring speech on his deep belief that the McPeak-Sirois Group, through its innovative and unique approach in Quebec, is making a real difference in patient access to clinical research in breast cancer. “I am now convinced that the Group, by joining forces of its various member hospitals, will bring real benefits to patients with breast cancer in Quebec. Mr. Sirois and Ms. McPeak have been visionaries with this project and I thank them for that” said Dr. Dubé.
